Carey Cathey

Carey has been involved in the horse industry all his life.  He was raised on the back of a pony turning back cows in his dad’s cutting horse operation and riding the endless forested mountains and grass valleys of beautiful western Oregon.  After college his love for the horse and western lifestyle brought him back to the ranch where he started a business starting colts, shoeing horses, and showing cutting horses on the weekends.  As the ranch grew so did his responsibilities as he found himself learning the breeding business, managing two stallions and upwards of thirty mares, and helping run 1000 head of feeder cattle with his father.  Ultimately, his love for the cutting horse pulled him in that direction as he showed cutting horses for the next 20 years.  He has been in all phases of the business: training, showing, breeding, sales, clinics, producing shows, serving as president and board member of various cutting associations.
